WASHINGTON, D.C. – Multiple press reports today from national newspapers andoutlets suggest that prominent Progressive/Liberal Leaders in both the House and Senate are threatening to send the economy over the fiscal cliff unless taxes are raised.
Spokesman Brad Dayspring issued the following statement on behalf of the YG Network:
“Have they lost their minds? Threatening to destroy the economy in order to force a tax increase that the majority of Americans don’t want is negligent, reckless and playing with fire. President Obama himself admitted that raising taxes would destroy millions of jobs. The last thing the markets need right now is the double whammy threat of tax increases and fiscal disaster.
“Instead of threatening to destroy the economy, lawmakers should get to work passing a budget, getting our fiscal house in order, and ensuring that no family or small business person faces a tax increase in this underperforming economy. House and Senate Leaders on both sides of the aisle should disavow these threats immediately.”
